JOB VANANCY Senior Industry Analyst | Auckland

We’re looking for a Senior Industry Analyst to join our team who is excited about applying their data science, communication and analytical skills to help our clients use our global, petabyte-sized audience demand measurement data to influence decision making, thus ensuring their success in their roles every day.
In this role, you will be at the heart of our audience demand measurement capabilities that empower our global clients to make data-driven decisions across all and any of their content decisions.
Parrot Analytics works with household-name global studios, networks and distributors. If you are naturally data curious, excited about deriving insights from data, and motivated by having an impact on the TV industry, we want to hear from you!
What will you do?
  • Work as a leading member of our industry analysis team in the implementation, execution, and analysis of research studies for the TV industry and our clients.
  • Dive deep into Parrot Analytics game-changing global audience demand measurement system and its big data sets to extract key insights and value to our clients.
  • Work closely with our marketing and customer success teams to identify important industry questions and answer them with data.
REQUIREMENTS
What you will be bringing to the role
  • A customer-success orientation: You understand data must lead to insights, which in turn must enable the customer to make the very best decisions. Everything you do is in light of holding this client-focused perspective.
  • You are a “super do-er”. You like to get things done and make a real impact in the fields of big data, data science and the TV industry.
  • Detail-oriented and a highly organized, systematic and proactive thinker. Excellent time management and able to troubleshoot and solve problems quickly.
  • Can effectively communicate technical results verbally and in writing to internal teams, clients and key industry stake holders, with a focus on driving impact.
  • Strong analytical skills, including familiarity with common data science approaches.
  • Technical skills including data management, data extraction, cleaning, transformation and visualization using tools such as SQL, R, Python, Tableau, etc.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and able to create client-ready PowerPoint presentations.
  • Works well with others in high-energy environment with minimal supervision.
  • Commitment to after-hours work as our clients and team are in multiple time zones.
  • A BS in a quantitative field (e.g., Applied Math, Econ, Statistics, Physics, Computer Science).
  • At least 2+ years’ experience in a customer facing data science and/or analytics role (within the media and entertainment industry – preferred).
  • Extraordinary ambition to improve every day and be the very best in what you do.
